A man in his 20′s who lives with his parents in Chongqing, China went on a hunger strike because his father, upset with his son’s long gaming hours and rotten attitude, broke his keyboard (which his parents had gotten him in the first place). The man, given the pseudonym Yang Yang, locked himself in his room for the night. He came out the next day but refused to eat anything until his parents fixed his gamelessness.
The worst part? The parents gave in! They actually bought their live-in adult son a new keyboard. This was after authorities were called to try and convince the poor, poor guy to eat something.
Kotaku has more on the story.

Oh my gosh this is hilarious! Sounds like something my son would do. Can’t believe the rents gave in!!

Pingback: Man Goes On Hunger Strike After Dad Breaks Keyboard So He Can’t Game (Brobro Still Lives At Home By The Way) | My Daily Feeds
Good grief, this family has far more problems than videogames and hunger strikes, and it’s not unlike some of the stories we here in the new in the US nowdays. overindulgent parents that have forgotten their primary role is to teach the young ones how to fly, and to survive outside of the nest on their own… and then to give them a gentle shove in the right direction!
He must have been pretty emaciated to begin with for the parents to give in!! Pretty obvious he has them (his parents) well trained–or there is an underlying reason why he is still at home and not working?
As a parent, I so hope my children do not turn out that way. Thanks for sharing this incredible story. Look forward to seeing you again next Thirsty for Comments Thursday.
