I love viral advertising. Any time a company does something like this that’s out-of-the-box and designed to entertain and get people talking it makes me extremely happy that brands connect with the 21st century and how my generation thinks. This shows the car’s abilities off without being just a standard commercial.
Fancy a treasure hunt? If so, get thee to the Milton Keynes Gallery in Milton Keynes, England. Artist Tomas Georgeson has hidden a blank check for £8,000 (about $12,600) somewhere in the gallery. He has only publicized it via traditional newspaper advertising in the town, but thanks to the internet his publicity stunt has gone viral. The check is not “in or behind” any artworks, so hopefully no one will harm the displays in pursuit of cash. The gallery reports it is already seeing an increase in traffic, so the artist’s aim of promoting the local scene has apparently been a success already.
Disney’s Wreck-it Ralph hits UK theaters on February 8, 2013 and they’ve been amping up the hype. In an awesome example of viral advertising, “8-Bit Lane” is full of works by Disney film production sculptor Aden Hynes that help transform the space with vintage game flair.
